Data Archives: Contains a broad selection of GIS layers, both vector and raster format, that are publicly available for viewing and in many cases also for  download. Focal area are the Eastern Visayas.

Layers: Provides Access to all public layers, your own layers and the layers other users shared with you.

Quick view: Choosing 'Show in map' will load the layer into the quick view map window at the page bottom. Several layers can be loaded there at once.

Layer view: For detailed information, click the layer title in Data Archives / Layer. The layer view will open, which contains a map window, metadata display, and comment section. According to the owner's settings also an attribute table and a download section. 

Layer Collections: Here you see all user created collections. Layers can be organized in table-based collections, which group certain layers according to specific purposes, projects or topics.

Documents: A repository for manuals, guidelines, scientific publications, official documents, non-spatial data, GIS scripts and models related to the VSU GIS Map Server, mapping, land use planning and other relevant topics. Every registered user can upload and share files.

Register

For creating an account registration is necessary. With registration, you can upload your own GIS data. Personal information is securely stored and can be changed any time in Manage Data / User Information.

Create layers

Manage data: Upload your own vector and raster datasets, create your own layers from these data, store, share and publish them, create layer collections and multilayers.

Vector Data: Upload ESRI shapefiles for points, lines and polygons: Drop and drag all recognized shapefile subtypes (.dbf, .prj, .shp, .shx) into the upload window or click the window for browsing your file system.

Raster Data: Upload GeoTIFF files: Drop and drag the .tif file into the upload window or click the window for browsing your file system.

Layer list: Choose your vector or raster source file, a unique title, fill in some metadata and create your layer. Generate a legend (vector) or customize your raster for a nice display of classes/ values.

Layer View: Set your sharing options. You are free to keep your layer private, share it per user or make it public. Choose if you enable download and attribute view. If you have additional documentation etc. for the layer, upload the files as layer attachments.

Layer Collections: Assure fast and easy access to relevant layers. Private as well as shared and public layers can be organized together in one collection. Create a collection, insert name and description. To add layers simply insert one ore multiple tags the layers has as metadata keywords. Every accessible layer with this tag (not case-sensitive) will appear in your collection. Metadata keywords can be edited any time in Manage Data / Layer View. Contribute to existing collections by adding the used the filter tag to your layers.

Multilayers: Combine some layers to multiple layer views for visualizing overlays, adjacent layers and compilations or for display of time series.

Communication

Comment: Add comments to specific layers in Data Archives / Layers / Layer View. The owner gets an email remark.

Forum: Cooperate with your colleagues, partners and stakeholders, get help and discuss with other users.
